Main Mission:
TigerSpeech Technology is aimed at corroborating the main mission of House Ear Institute by providing innovative speech software to people with hearing problems based on the state-of-art speech technology and recent research findings in cochlear implants, hearing aid, speech and hearing science, language development, and auditory plasticity.
TigerSpeech Technology is devoted to develop innovative computer-based auditory training software to facilitate people with cochlear implant device and/or hearing aid in their auditory rehabilitation process. The software allows the users to master the auditory rehabilitation process with their own preferable paces. Also the software can be used for the people who are interested in second-language learning as well as for researchers who regularly perform speech perception test.

Research Projects:
Several projects have been completed or ongoing to evaluate the effects of auditory training on speech performance in cochlear implant (CI) patients and normal-hearing subjects listening to an acoustic simulation of cohlear implant processing. Here list the major conclusions from these studies. The detailed information for these studies could be found here.- Moderate auditory training can significantly improve auditory resolution, speech understanding, and music appreciation in CI patients.
- The computer-Assisted Speech Training program( or the CAST program) is a useful auditory rehabilitation tool for CI and hearing aid users.
- Targeted phoneme contrast training is a very efficient protocol for auditory training. The amount of training, instead of the training frequency, is critical for the training outcome.
